Our Working Groups and Workstreams
AS-BUILT INFORMATION
Working with industry to establish a clearer and more consistent understanding of the information that should be provided at handover. This work has contributed to the Construction Leadership Council’s work on As-Built Handover Information Requirements.
DIGITAL HANDOVER
Examining how usable, structured and reliable information can be transferred from project teams to the people responsible for operating and maintaining assets.
The workstream’s discussions and findings have been consolidated into the BIMinAM Digital Handover Report.
DIGITAL ASSET CAPTURE
Exploring practical methods of capturing information about existing assets where records are absent, incomplete or unreliable.
The group has brought together practical experience through workshops, masterclasses and the Digital Asset Capture Report.
OPERATIONS, O&M AND HEALTH & SAFETY
Examining what information operational teams require, how it should be maintained and how it can support safe and effective decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.
GOLDEN THREAD
Bringing specialists together to identify the information, responsibilities and practical tasks required to make the Golden Thread achievable and sustainable.
The work has produced reports, recorded discussions, recommendations and a Golden Thread Safety Case Checklist.
FIRE AND SAFETY-CRITICAL ASSETS
Developing practical information and inspection recommendations for assets including fire doors, alarms, smoke-control systems, dampers, firestopping, cavity barriers, emergency lighting and sprinkler systems.
The resulting recommendations are freely available through the BIMinAM Knowledge Hub.
