Regulatory requirements
The statutory information requirements for all building types were updated in August 2023
“The responsible person must issue a notice to the person carrying out the work, acknowledging the receipt of fire safety information.
This notice should confirm that the information provided is sufficient for them to understand, operate, and maintain the building and its fire safety systems effectively after the building work.”

A project team (any, where more than one contractor is engaged) must then confirm “We declare that in accordance with Regulation 38 of the Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) all the information shown above is fully understood, care has been taken to prepare accurate information which has subsequently been passed onto the person responsible for fire safety to allow them to manage the building effectively”
“We have also received a notice from the responsible person acknowledging receipt of the fire safety information and confirming the information provided is sufficient to enable them to understand, operate and maintain the building (and the fire safety systems in it) after the building work in question.”
